Some areas of Derbyshire seem to provide us with more tree care work than others. We Carry out a slot of Tree work in the chesterfield area and recently we seem to have quite a few jobs in Wingerworth. Below you can see a selection of some of the recent Tree Surgeon work we have carried out in Wingerworth.
Willow Pollarding
We were asked to come and assess a weeping willow that was simply getting too large for its setting. We decided that the best course of action would be to Pollard the tree. That allows the tree to create new drooping branches over the next growing season. Pollarding is a form of tree pruning where the smaller branches and boughs are bluntly cut off. This can look quite harsh, but the tree will soon recover and be back to its normal look very soon.
Conifer Cut Back
Another customer had an overgrown conifer at the side of their house. When conifers get too overgrown they can become a real issue blocking out light from the property and neighbouring gardens. This particular Tree had developed an area of deadwood near to the top. Our Photo here shows the tree and its size. the customer didn’t want to remove the tree, they just wanted it reduced in height. So we printed the top of the tree to remove the dead patch. Pruning the tree lets in more light to the customers garden and make the tree look better overall.
Field Maples Pruned
Finally, we were called out to reduce the height of a stand of tall field maples. These trees had gotten exceptionally large, and leggy, when the boughs become too large like this they can become a hazard in and after high winds. You can see how high up we had to climb to begin our work.
By pruning the trees back we can extend their lives and make them safer for people and properties below. Wherever possible Ascent Tree Solutions try to keep trees standing rather than removing them when it’s not necessary. Ultimately it’s the property owners call.
