We were recently called to a house on Station Rd, Darley Dale. The homeowners had been referred to us by another satisfied customer of ours for who we’d just carried out some stump grinding for.
This particular customer needed several lime trees and a goat Willow Pollarding. Pollarding is a pruning system which involves the removal of the upper branches of a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches. These trees had been left for many years without any attention being given to them. They were shading large parts of the garden and despite the homeowners best pollarding efforts, weren’t quite right.
So much of what we do as local tree surgeons can be classed as pruning. Pruning trees helps them to stay healthy rather than allowing them to fall into what amounts to natural decay. In today’s modern world we cannot just leave trees to grow wild especially when they are in domestic gardens or close to paths or property.
